As Galway’s longest established photographers, we strive to offer an exceptional and professional service to clients and help them to cherish precious memories, by providing them with high quality photographs and an outstanding experience. We believe in capturing the beauty of each individual as no one person is the same.


We have over 85 years combined experience photographing families, children and weddings. We love capturing the beauty in each person. Our passion is to highlight that beauty in a way that you have never seen before.


We believe in building a relationship with our customers; to us this is one of the most important factors for a successful studio.


We want you to have a fun and memorable experience when you are in our studio. We will ensure you leave with gorgeous portraits every time.



Upon booking with us, we will do four things:

  1. We will ask you a few questions in order to understand you as a person and get an idea of what type of photography session you are interested in. We can then advise of the options available to you.
  2. We will schedule your portrait session for a time that is convenient for you. Portraits are available Monday to Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm. Sundays by appointment only. We allow 1 hour for a photoshoot and 2 hours for newborn babies.
  3. After that, we will schedule a second appointment inviting you back to the studio 4-7 days after your session to view your images and place an order. This appointment usually takes about 1 hour. We will go through our prices and price packages during this time. Viewing and order appointments are also available from 9.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
  4. Lastly, we ask for a €50 in studio sitting fee or €150 location portraiture fee to secure and confirm your appointment. It simply ensures you will arrive at the time you have reserved.



To make your experience at Yann Studios easier, we have a few tips to ensure you are prepared for your session with us.



Firstly, decide the theme of the event. If casual, then everybody should be dressed casually, likewise if choosing a formal theme, everybody should be dressed formally. For example, please ensure that one person is not wearing a shirt and tie while the rest are in jeans.


Avoid any patterns, designs, logos or loud, bright colours; they will distract from the face. Solid colours (one colour) are best. No stripes, zigzags or distracting markings. For example, select a dark colour for jeans/trousers and ensure everyone is wearing a shade of that colour. It does not have to be the exact same colour; just ensure the shades are the same. Likewise for tops, select a shade and have all wearing a variation of that shade (as long as one isn’t wearing red and the others in white).


Brand names and company logos on shirts and tops all distract from the faces and date the portraits.



We strive to bring out everyone’s personality in the photographs to make sure your session is different from the rest and unique to you. Bring your child’s favourite toy or blanket or some treats for your pet. Bring anything that symbolises you.



Yes, of course you can. Bring anyone you like, whether it is a family member, a friend or anyone you want to share this experience with.



The photographer working with you will take 40-60 images of you during your 1 hour photography session. These pictures will be in different poses and outfits (if you feel it necessary). You have the choice of changing dress code. We will take a combination of photographs. For location portraiture, we undertake 30-40 images during the hour, whatever combinations the customer requires.


Should you have any ideas or suggestions of your own, please tell the photographer; they are always happy to accommodate you and any ideas you may have. We will work hard to capture a variety of expressions and moods and leave you with a portrait to be proud of and plenty to choose from!



Our studio runs by appointment only meaning you have our complete attention when you are with us. We will allow 1 hour for you with our photographer (or longer if requested when booking).


We always encourage you to bring your interests and activities to the shoot. For outdoor portraits, you can choose any place that means something to you, it may be just an area that you love or grew up in; it’s all about you.


As mentioned, the photographer will take between 40-60 images, depending. Just remember to relax, smile and have fun!


Where young children are concerned, select a time that suits the child’s sleeping and eating pattern. It will be impossible to achieve good results if the child is tired or hungry. You are more than welcome to feed and change your child in privacy in the studio. We want you and your child to be comfortable and happy!


Where pets are concerned, if possible, please ensure they receive some exercise before the photography session as dogs can be quite hyper upon arrival at the studio which can delay the entire process. Please feel free to bring any favourite toys to be included in the photographs. And don’t forget the treats!



Viewing your images is normally done 4-7 days after the photography session in the studio on a slide show, allowing you to see all the images in a larger size and the facial expressions. Our photographer will then go through the different size prints, frames and pricing packages we offer with you and help you make your final decision before you place your order.



Turnaround on orders is typically 4-6 weeks from the date the order is finalised by you and a payment has been received. Faster turnaround is available under certain circumstances, depending on the season, but must be discussed at booking time. Please let us know if there are specific deadlines you are working towards.


We are open for pickup and collection Monday to Saturday from 9.30am – 5.30pm. We accept cash, Laser, Visa and/or MasterCard.


We ask for a €50 in studio sitting fee and €150 location portraiture fee to secure and confirm your appointment. It simply ensures you will arrive at the time you have reserved. For all orders, a deposit must be paid before the order can be placed. Any changes to the order must be made within 7 days of placing the order.



We understand due to unforeseen circumstances you may be unable to attend your appointment. If this occurs, our cancellation policy states that we offer a full refund on your sitting fee or we can reschedule your time and date for when it suits you, if available. However, we do require 72 hours notice. We’re happy to help you find a time that works better for you and your €50 sitting fee from the original appointment will transfer over to your new appointment time.
