Q. How do I book a photography session at Yann Studios?
A. You can book by calling us on 087-0993990, using the contact form on our website, or texting us. We typically recommend booking 2-4 weeks in advance for family and portrait sessions, though we can often accommodate shorter notice. If you are in a hurry, call us to check availability.
You can either contact us, or we can contact you. Whichever way, we chat briefly about your ideas and book you into the diary for the day and time that suits you. We do request a €100.00 reservation fee, which will be deducted from your first order.
Q. Do we need to prepare in any way?
A. We do ask that clients coordinate their clothing for a better portrait. But you are phoned prior to the session for a brief chat about your ideas, etc. At that time, clothing, outfits, etc., are discussed.
Q. Where is your photography studio located?
A. Our studio is at Unit 17, Lakeview Point, Claregalway Corporate Park, Claregalway, County Galway. We’re easily accessible from Galway city (15 minutes), with free parking directly outside the studio. We also offer location photography throughout Galway, Mayo, and Clare if you’d prefer an outdoor or on-site session.
Q. What happens after the session?
A. During the phone chat, prior to the session. We can arrange a time for you to return to view the portraits and see how they turned out. Children are not needed at this stage. We actually recommend not bringing them, as they can get bored with the viewing. But it’s very important that you have 100% attention in selecting your order, as it cannot be changed at a later stage. This viewing lasts about 30 minutes. Where you can ask any questions and our experienced staff can help you with your selection, make suggestions and offer you ideas.
Q. Do you travel for photography sessions?
A. Yes, we offer both studio and location photography throughout County Galway, Mayo, and Clare. Studio sessions take place at our Claregalway location, whilst location sessions can be at your home, workplace, or a scenic outdoor spot. Travel within Galway is typically included; additional travel fees may apply for sessions in Mayo or Clare. Please call for details.
Q. What should I wear for professional headshots?
A. Choose solid colours that complement your skin tone; blues, greys, and jewel tones work particularly well. Avoid busy patterns, logos, or bright whites, which can be distracting. Bring 2-3 outfit options if you’re unsure.
For corporate headshots, wear what you’d wear to an important client meeting. For LinkedIn photos, consider your industry; creative professionals can be less formal than corporate executives. We’ll guide you through outfit selection when you arrive.
Q. How long does it take to receive the final portraits?
A. Typically, it takes about 3/4 weeks to get your order ready. But it depends on exactly what you require, including the quantity, sizes, finish, etc.
Q. How long does a headshot session take?
A. Most professional headshot sessions take 30-45 minutes. This includes time to discuss your requirements, capture multiple poses and expressions, and review images together. We work efficiently whilst ensuring you feel relaxed and confident.
Corporate group bookings (multiple employees) are scheduled with 20-30 minutes per person.
Q. How long does a family photo session take?
A. Family portrait sessions typically last 45-60 minutes for immediate family (2-4 people), and 60-90 minutes for extended family groups.
Children’s sessions may be shorter (30-45 minutes) to work with younger attention spans. We allow plenty of time for natural interactions, multiple poses, and outfit changes if desired, without rushing.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Weekday appointment: Provide at least 7 days’ notice, and we can offer ONE reschedule to an alternative midweek or weekend date within the next 6 weeks (please note weekends are in high demand and often fully booked).
Weekend appointment: No reschedule permitted. All cancellations and no-shows will forfeit their reservation fee.
